Drummer, composer and sound engineer Emanuel Hauptmann was born in Munich on a cold December night in1966. Hauptmann’s musical passion was awakened early in his childhood through the influences of his parents, especially his singer/songwriter mother. In addition, his uncle (physicists and drummer), introduced him to the recordings of Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr., Art Blakey, Miles Davis, Oskar Peterson, Gene Grupa, Louis Bellson, Buddy Rich and many others... This ultimately infected Hauptmann with the drummer’s virus.

Hauptmann has recorded and worked with national and international companies, acts and artists such as; Portishead, Eric Woolfsons (Allan Parson Project) / Musical POE, SIDO / Universal, Comedian Harmonists, ZDF, VIVA -TV, Ike Turner, Torsen Goods, Christian Lohr (BMG), Duo Phon Records, publicist Felix-Bloch-Erben (2004-2006), Ullstein, Gallissas, Media One, First Music Produktion, Hoffmann und Campe, Buena Vista Int., Menschenkinder-Verlag etc... He has recorded  a number of audio books as well as music with German actors such as; Mario Adorf, Sylvester Groth, Joachim Kerzel, Daniela Ziegler, Anja Stoehr, Judy Winter, Volker Lechtenbrink, Matthias Schweighöfer a.m.m..
