Abstract Animation exploring Icelandic Music
Visualising sound with analogue techniques
January 29 through 30, 2014
at Listasafn Reykjavíkur | Reykjavík Art Museum
Reykjavik, Iceland
free assistance until full capacity is reache

Treating Icelandic music samples as sources of inspiration, or musical score for a pictorial creation, this workshop aimed to underline the tight relationship between sound and image, music and animated film.

The construction of animated abstract film may be similar to a musical piece structure, allowing for the free montage and multiplied reconstruction of the fragments, and operating in a sensory dimension.

The participants discovered the whole process of creating an animated film, using analogue and accessible techniques, and the most elementary prime matter for the creation of their own interpretations of the proposed musical sample.
