The workshop intended to create a platform where the participants could connect, collaborate and inspire each other in the process of translation of their experiences and observations into abstract forms and movements i.e. an Abstract Animation. With the use of varied materials and techniques, they explored the ever evolving and expanding vocabulary of Animation.
Each participant created a frame(s) and passed it on to the other to build upon. A few themes were shared with the participants, and one was selected to work upon collectively.
The festival's energy and essence, combined with the participants' own memories, thoughts and reflections, were explored and translated into abstract forms, colors, sounds and movements in the creative expressions of each of the participants.
The intention was to explore a process of co-creation or participatory design, and see what meaning emerged from the experiment.
The techniques used are hand-drawing with pen/pencil & paper or stylus & Wacom tablets, still photography, and stop-motion animation.
