This weird Japanese term refers to the light blinking, and denominates a way of constructing moving images by drawing with colored flashlights in the dark.
A priori, it might seem quite complicated to achieve certain coherence in what we draw, since each drawing loses the reference of the previous one; still, it’s really surprising the quality and smoothness of the final image, which responds to the body memory, a skill we all have and which we’ll enhance through this exercise.
It is also a very useful technique to create titles and written messages.
This workshop proposes to initiate children -between 9 and 12 years old- into the world of animation, and its goal is to expose them to non-commercial animation cinema making them create short films using the mentioned technique. We will encourage teamwork and collaboration, creating collective works.
These workshops are part of a series of courses dictated at the summer camps organized by the Bilbao City Council, and are carried out at public schools such as CEP Gabriel Aresti LHI, CEIP Basurto HLHI, Txurdinaga herri ikastetxea, CEIP Viuda de Epalza, CEP Luis Briñas LHI, CEIP Deusto and CEIP García Rivero.
