DANIEL MIRKIN FROIS
Distinguished Dj, a visual, conceptual and netartist. He studied Literature, Production Design and Visual Arts. A curator said once that "Mirkin ruminates and roars with the music, or beyond music". He's also organiser of shows featuring new tendencies in art and performs as a non-semantic dj at last-fm. Since 1999 his work has been featured in various international exhibitions.
He's the editor of a children's magazine, a netlable and a hdisk club in second life; he also co-directs the invisible school, a place dedicated to arts, creativity and playfull experiences for children. Next to Antonio Birabent and Soledad Fandiño he produced the soundtrack of an internationally rewarded film, soon to be released in Buenos Aires. www.derrochedeleche.blogspot.com

OFFICIAL COMPETITION 2007 SECTION
We have received 94 works from over 20 countries during our 2007 call for entries. The following are the selected 52 films that have competed for jury and audience awards.
BA in Image and Sound Design at the University of Buenos Aires.
Director of music promos and visuals for bands like Miranda!, Baccarat, Pez, Tirador Laser, Fantasmagoria, Djs Pareja, Que Out, Rosal, Dani Umpi, Die Strauch and Victoria Mil.
She worked in cinema post-production for films like “Monobloc” (dir. Luis Ortega), “Erreway”(RGB), and “Vida en Falcon” (Awarded first prize at the Independent Cinema Festival of Buenos Aires). Director of corporative videos for L.E.A (creative department at FAENA Hotel + Universe) and editor of TV adds for Fuyi, Mas, Raid, Avvillas, Club Social, Microsoft and Hyundai.

Martín Borini (aka Ailaviu) is an art director and vj. Since 2000 he develops and applies visual concepts, designing visuals for bands like Miranda! and INTOXICADOS and taking part in various international festivals. He designed panoramic video systems and gave courses at the Escuela Sónica and lectures on “realtime video”. Since 2004 he designs installations for the creative department at the FAENA Hotel + Universe. As VJ Arenabeach 07 he develops projects for the production company EB TV; also works as artistic producer at NOKIA TRENDS ARTEMOTION ARG and currently is the art designer of Victoria Mil.... Various of his works have been awarded nationwide.

Vj ZIBE y YO VJ
Zibe Ideas Animadas is a working space for continuous experimentation and free invention created by Martín Vázquez, Gustavo Zibecchi and Damián Celiberti. They develop projects on communication through creative production, multimedia, web and graphic design. As new media artists they create audiovisual installations and perform live as vjs.
They dedicate most of their time to the production of loops using experimental animation, edition and realisation techniques. They also perform at parties, events and exhibitions all over the country.
They feature as Argentina's representatives in the book·catalogue on Vj Culture "Repeat Please", edited by the international platform ZEMOS98.

ÁNGELES CASARES a.k.a MINIRÖCKE
Angeles Casares (aka Miniröcke) works as a multimedia artist producing video and electronic music. In 2005 she released her first EP "Treffen sich" with Elephant Pixel and in 2006, her debut solo EP "Wandern", both released by the Argentinean net label Igloo. Her video works were shown in various festivals and exhibits around the globe. In 2006 she began collaborating with Porno For Laicos, first vjing during their shows and then as a producer jamming together in SAMC (South American Music Conference).
Further projects include the production of short films and music videos for artists like Ampec (aka Funzion) and Elephant Pixel (aka Dilo). She's currently working on an online interactive game via streaming: www.pingnic.net, making music for Leandro Quinteros' photographs and collages books and covers for
net labels such as Unfoundsound and Natural Media.

LUIS MARTE
In 1993 Luis Marte created Fuga Cósmica with Pablo Reche and a year later, he constituted the independent record company Fuga Records.
Ever since his early recordings, there's a constant synthesis of various elements and experimental exploration through structures derived from the ambient scene with compulsive beat touches and brief electro-pop passages.
Organiser of numerous multimedia shows, like "Fuga Jurásica", he currently develops the project Templos: recordings of ambient sound inside XIX century churches for later editing.
Fabián González's career as a Dj started in 2004 in Europe, when minimal house music was at its peak. In 2005 he takes part in the conceptual soundwork FAR & LEJOS with David Lamelas, Jorge Chikiar, Sebastián Pisera and Anabel Manzueto, featuring mixes of AmbientExperimental, Noise, Acid House and Hip Hop. He currently performs with Vj Marcelo Rondinone in various events and works on new material for his Dj sessions in Buenos Aires.

JOSÉ JIMÉNEZ a.k.a R3NDER · IVÁN IVANOFF a.k.a I2OFF
Composed of two self·taught artists, Ivan Ivanoff and José Jiménez, researchers and developers of new technologies at several Media Labs and software development companies like Macromedia or Adobe. Together with Enrique Marmora they created EstadoLateral, an enterprise dedicated to innovative technologies' development for communication and artistic applications.
Their work is focused on content's poetry through an intimate experience with technology. In the last years they performed and were awarded in various cities around the globe.

SEBASTIAN IANNIZZOTTO a.k.a Vj SeBas
Sebastián Iannizzotto (aka Vj seBas) discovered the electronic music in the late 80's and later jumped to Acid House and Jungle. As an Industrial Design student he started working with systems in CAD-3D and computer graphic design. He soon explored image-sound interfaces and thanks to the help of artists like Bad Boy Orange, Baliens, Urban Groove and others, he began developing his own technique and style.
After his first interventions at the Raves in Parque Sarmiento, came innumerable parties and visual designs for Garage parties, events at CC San Martín, Fundación Proa, and many more.
Since 2005 he lectures at Escuela Sónica and continues broadening his interests and fields of research and work.

NINA PLEZ
Visual artist, a Vj since 2002 and live visual designer in various nocturnal scenes. She combines software, different techniques and formats to create experimental images characterised for the use of geometry, colour, light and nature, always customising her sets to the music style of each scene. Director of music videos, since 2003 she's also a curator at Festival Argentino del Videoclip. All her visual work is directly linked to music.

GISELA FAURE a.k.a Vj GI
Based on her studies in graphic design, Gisela Faure (aka Vj Gi) starts applying the Flash format to the music realm.
Her colourful and minimalist style render her one of the most distinguished visual designers in the Argentinean scene. She developed visuals for musicians and bands like Ocio (Gustavo Cerati - Flavio Etcheto), Roken (Gustavo Cerati, Flavio Etcheto, Leandro Fresco), Flavius E., Bad Boy Orange, Virus, Altocamet, Imperfectos, Isla de los estados, among many others. She also took part in various international festivals like Mutek AR, Creamfields, Sounth fest and currently collaborates with fine artists in their personal exhibitions and designing visuals for TV productions.

ALEJANDRO DELGADO
In the late 70's he launches his professional career as a Dj. Since 1986 he focuses on the production of digital images and starts working as a VJ with Diego Cid at several locations in Buenos Aires.
Founder of the Escuela de Computación Gráfica, he is also curator of the digital art screening “Computerkunst”, with Goethe and Siggraph BA. In 1993 he creates the 3d and FX production company El Icono and in 2005 releases the documentary Los Bravos, co-produced and co-directed with Rocío Muñoz.
He currently designs visuals for the presentation of D+D's last album “Curativo” and develops the image design for the upcoming DVD of 9000.

DIEGO CID a.k.a Dj CID
Launched into the scene during disco music's splendour, seduced by the 80's electropop and rehearsing the first industrial techno sounds, he creates solid mixes which define his particular style as a Dj. His constant experimentation leads him directly to the boom of Chicago's house, which he introduces to the Argentinean sites where he performs. He formed the DVj collective Urban Groove with other technoboys, and supports in various ways the incipient electronic culture in Argentina.

MARCELO RONDINONE
Rondinone is a multidimensional artist. He began his career in visual media at the age of 16, and has worked in advertising, cinema, fine arts and literature. He's one of the first video jockeys in South America. He later became a DJ with an eclectic tropical style full of "world music" touches. For four years he's been producing his own music.
